Regional Security - Northeast Region Airtel

Job Description:

  • To effectively handle all security operational activities, liaise and manage relations with government security agencies.
  • We also interface with Government Regulatory Agencies i.e. LGAS and State Govts, work permit community activities and contractors in order to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of business operations in the region.
  • To effectively manage the Security Operations and Administration in the entire Northeast Regions of the country, by developing the framework for supervising the various Security Service Providers, and equally coordinating the activities of the Regional Security Specialists in the Region.

Job Responsibilities:

Motivate and manage Security resources at the region to ensure safety and security of Airtel's assets and machinery:

  • Prioritizes the allocation of security resources to high-risk, high impact issues.
  • Proactive and holistic enhancement of security across the Region.
  • Overall responsibility for the Security Infrastructures in the Region.
  • Coordinate Security operational activities at the region to ensure constant presence of guards at Airtel's locations.

Ensure effective liaison and Relationship with community leader and regional indigenes and residents in the entire Region:

  • Serves as primary security contact in the Region and ensure adequate planning and provision of resources for appropriate security initiatives.
  • Anticipate and meet the challenges/needs of Airtel Networks stakeholders, including employees, contractors, communities, partners and service companies; manage security service delivery with internal business Groups.
  • Works with Business Groups to prepare security strategy and ensure most cost-effective service delivery.
  • Communicate security issues and initiatives to business Groups and key stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Proactively work with Government Agencies, including Police and Military to define and clarify roles, responsibilities and ensure that these Agencies' actions are consistent with Airtel Networks standards.
  • Effective and efficient supervision of Security Service Providers in the Region.

Effective and proactive Claims and Liabilities Management

  • Crisis management and planning.
  • Builds relationship with business Groups, identify and anticipate their needs.
  • Generate periodic reports and maintain database of past, current and potential community issues, threats, demands and activities.
  • Identifying and advising on potential claim and liabilities and taking pre-emptive action to avoid such claims or liabilities.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any of the humanities (Legal background will be an added advantage).
  • Possession of a post Graduate Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Initiative, business management and decisiveness skills.

Relevant Experience & Behavioral Requirements:

  • 10 – 12 years post qualification experience in the various areas of Security Profession with a specialization in Operations, Intelligence and Surveillance, among others.
  • Previous experience /membership of the Nigerian Police Force or any arm of the Military.
  • or State Security Service is highly essential.
  • Membership of both Local and International Security Association is compulsory.
  • Excellent and effective written and oral communication, as well as presentation skills.

Job Description:

  • To maximize revenue and subscriber acquisition (gross and net additions) opportunities in assigned territory through channel effectiveness (wholesale & retail), adequate recharge availability and implementation of planned sales & distribution and marketing strategies.

Job Responsibilities:

To achieve recharge sales target within state/area:

  • To ensure adequate availability of all recharge denominations in sub-CP and retail points.
  • To ensure channel partners are making stock available and distributing to their network of sub-CPs and retailers.
  • To achieve ERC, RCV and E-pin target in agreed ratios.
  • Constantly identify opportunities for driving activation and recharge sales within territory.

Achieve Share of Gross & Net Additions:

  • Ensure full-fledged achievement of Gross Adds targets by driving market initiatives in assigned area.

  • Effective management of POS stock in warehouse to avoid damage, wastage and obsolete materials.

BTS Management:

  • Ensure constant CLS elimination.
  • Develop subscriber acquisition and other marketing initiatives to drive revenue in CLS site locations.
  • New Site Launch Plan and Distribution Preparedness.
  • Effectively drive and manage target driven initiatives and projects.

Industry Awareness/Competition Intelligence:

  • To effectively report competitive activities within assigned territory and implement adequate counter initiatives.
  • Track on-going initiatives in Market.

Distribution Infrastructure:

  • To recruit appropriate number of Retailers- in line with scientific distribution requirements.

  • Appropriately and timely escalation of all unsatisfactory executions, inappropriate behaviors or non-compliance among team members, partners and agents in accordance with business standards and procedures.
  • Build databases for all MDs' Beat Plans/Daily Outlet Visit Plan. Ensure all beat plans are signed off by ASMs, to ensure every MD covers min of 10 visits daily, while inspecting all Kits and POS Terminals.

Prepare and compile key daily, weekly and monthly activities report including Coaching and accompaniment Reports and share with relevant stakeholders:

  • Track and effectively report weekly and monthly coaching and accompaniment achievements of Line Managers. Use report to influence Line Managers to focus on capability development of their teams.
  • Periodically analyze coached team members versus poorly trained Team members to generate insights for improved execution.
  • Identify best practices in line with business ethics and strategies within and outside assigned Regions, share with team to learn and implement for competitive advantage.
